Get to Know Us

The Hebden School of Dancing Post 16 College was founded to meet the increasing demand for high-quality, qualified, and safe training in dance and dance teaching within our local area and beyond. We believe that every dancer deserves the opportunity to pursue their passion in an environment that prioritises safety and professionalism. By offering comprehensive training programs taught by experienced instructors we create a space where students can grow, refine their techniques, and explore career development opportunities. We understand that the journey of a dancer is continuous, and it's crucial to have a regulated environment that not nurtures talent but also prepares students for the competitive world of dance. At The Hebden School of Dancing Post 16 College, we are committed to empowering the next generation of dancers and dance educators, ensuring they thrive both on stage and in their future careers.

From Our Principal

Chloe Hebden

Dance has been at the centre of my life for 29 years, beginning as a professional performer at the age of 12 before moving into the business and education side of the industry at just 17. With over 16 years of experience in teaching and school leadership, I now dedicate my career to running The Hebden School of Dancing and our Post-16 college, ensuring that students have access to the very best training and opportunities at every stage of their journey.

As Principal of the college, my role is to set the vision, standards, and direction of our training. I am committed to providing students with a clear pathway into professional performance or teaching, ensuring that every element of their education supports longevity, adaptability, and resilience in their chosen careers. My leadership is built on a deep belief in safeguarding and quality assurance — only highly qualified, reputable faculty are part of our team, giving students the security of knowing they are taught and mentored by trusted professionals.

Over the years, I have helped students secure places at prestigious vocational schools and post-graduate colleges, and I bring this experience into building a college programme that reflects the realities of the industry. Our courses balance technical excellence with performance artistry, personal development, and industry knowledge, creating graduates who are confident, versatile, and work-ready.

My passion lies in shaping performers and teachers who are not only technically strong, but also creative, resilient, and deeply grounded in a strong work ethic. At this college, my goal is to provide the highest level of education and support, so that every student leaves with the skills, awareness, and confidence to succeed — whether on stage, in the studio, or within the wider creative sector.
